One of the most pressing issues in modern society is the debate of providing the local transports free of cost to solve the traffic jam issue, as it significantly impacts the regular activities of general people. While it can be argued that vehicles which are used by public should be provided free of change, another opinion is that other solutions must be found out to eradicate traffic congestion issue. In this essay, I will examine both sides of the arguments and explain why I agree with the notion that public transportation should be charge-free for everybody.
Generally speaking, there are a wide variety of reasons why people believe that public vehicles should be provided for individuals to go to their desired places. Perhaps the main reason why people are in favor of cost free vehicle service is because more people including both lower and middle class families will use public buses or trains rather than private cars, which will definitely help to reduce traffic jams during peak hours as less private vehicles will be utilized. It is not unknown that vehicles emit dangerous carbon to the atmosphere, which ultimately pollute the environment. So, it can be said that the more the public transports, the less likely the pollution will be taken place.
On the flip side, there are also strong arguments for the idea that it is not possible to eradicate traffic jams by providing free transportations. The primary reason why people think that free transportations are useless is because many people will tend to use these at first, but soon due to the limited vehicles as compared to the populations, individuals will be less attracted to the public transport sector. One more reason to support this idea that government will lose a lot of taxes from the private car sector.
In conclusion, the notion that to reduce traffic problems in roads, public vehicles should be free of charge, is indeed agreeable based on the discussions provided above. I believe that the aforementioned points strongly support my viewpoint, establishing that cost free transportation system holds more merit in the context of encouraging individuals avoiding private vehicles.
