Educational institutions like schools shouldnot provide courses with academic subjects only that are essential for their future endaveours but should also add other activites like music and sports. It is widely argued topic that whether schools should consider theoritical subjects only in their curriculum. From my view, I strongly disagree with this statement as i think adding extracurriculum activites like music, sports and arts are equally necessary for childrens holistic development.
First of all, extracurriculum activities like art and music are equally important as theory based subjects in schools especially for younger childrens and teenagers. The children of these age groups often feel frustration and irritation in relative to younger adults. So, activites like music and art can help them feel less annoyed and more refreshed. Consequently, they will perform better in their studies as well with a focused mind. For instance, it is seen that students focuses more after having music or art sessions as they mentioned they felt more relaxed and calm.
Secondly, sport is an important factor for overall development of a child. While, adding it to the curriculum of school will not only provide refreshment but also supports their physical development. Furthermore, playing sports helps to develop stamina, boost metabolism and helps to remain active. Therefore, this will promote a child’s physical as well as mental capabilties. One illustration of this is a student who spends a part of his/her day in outdoor activity is more likely to have higher level of focus in comparision to the one who monotonously studies for a whole day.
In conclusion, adding music and sports in school’s curriculum are important for their overall growth and future as well. It will not only relaxes mind but also sharpens the focus which will eventually play a major role to enhance their growth leading to a successful career.
