Some people today claim that it is essential to investigate the past and that everyone should learn history to enlarge their understanding of current events. However, another part of people suggest that studying history is a waste of time. I am largely in agreement with the first sentiment and that history builds the future, while the history cannot be returned and changed.
The historical events cannot be modified anymore. Humanity is exploring events from the past and discussing failures and wars with struggle and putting much energy, but they do not claim the fact that their efforts cannot influence or change history, it is just a waste of time. Even the power of technology is not sufficient to return to previous centuries. As one of the influencers of our generation said people should care about the future and current civilization, and how to improve it, prioritizing the past will cause many tradeoffs in the future.
However, history is the basis of the upcoming centuries, the mistakes made in the past will not be accomplished twice. By analysing the failures done by ancestors, the new generation has a higher probability of not repeating them, which will cause consistent enhancement in every sphere of life in forthcoming events. New types of medications, unique political decisions, and novelties in engineering are established now following the first traditional ways of treating, judging and creating, which were committed by the first human beings. For instance, following the studies in medicine, half of the effective healing methods of bone fractures are done with the use of medical plastic and rope, which have been the substitutions of first stick and grass.
In conclusion, this essay affirms that history should continue to be revised and learned because the past is an essential foundation of the future even though this affair may be a completely wasted effort.
