It is a notion of many individuals that in order to make the society happier, we must avoid any disparity between wealthy and impoverished people. I agree to this statement.
Entailing the reasons behind the differences, the major inequalities are found in terms of their living standards. By this, I mean that there is a vast difference between rich and poor in terms of choosing their cloths, cars and other accessories. In fact, we see there are some standardised brands in the market that sells a product at an extremely higher price. As a consequence, the indigent people, who cannot afford it, get inferiority complex and often feel envy of high-class society. This very point prevents them from being happy. Not only that, but people from high-class society boast around these people to establish their status which, further, heightens this gap among the people of the community.
To hit the nail harder, even though technology is offering the luxuries to all the living beings, may it be electronic gadgets or vehicles, the type of product they use has had a major impact on their status in the society. To explicit my point with an example, the I-phone users are often considered as wealthy members of the society owing to the overpriced phone. At the same time, the users of other companies are ranked down by the society. This also shows the notable difference in the members of the laity. Despite having the same functions of the products, lower class people feel dejected and embarrassed which prevents them from being happy.
To conclude, in this materialistic world, if we are to make the world happier, we must ensure that smaller or no difference is there among rich and poor people which is only possible when they are offered equal opportunities.
