It is a common belief that the criminal’s personal information should not be shared to the public to protect the privacy and security of the criminal’s family to prevent discrimination. However, there is a more persuasive argument that everything that rely on criminals needs to be publicize to community.
On the one hand, confidential information about crimes will avoid attracting attention and unequal treat to criminal’s relatives. In addition, it can victimize them because social prediscope to stay away or harm people that have relationship with criminals. Moreover, if the information don’t be accuracy well and uploaded on the internet, some writer will disort and change the content to confuse social opinion. Research has shown by prominent professior that a high number of criminal’s relatives in the world now are facing with stress and tiredness everyday or some will choose sucide and isolate from everyone.
Nevertheless, I support the idea that revealing the identities of criminals publicly will encourage everyone to raise vigilance, prepare better plans and learn how to protect themselves. Besides, this can also help the criminal not to commit the crime again. Because the community now knows about the existence of criminals and they will always watch and take precautions, it is very difficult for criminals to do bad things. An excellent example of this occurred in Tokyo, Japan when a woman was arriving to her house at night when she relized that there was a straighter who was doing something very suspicious. However, this man was no longer a stranger as he was the criminal who had just been released from prison that she had read about on TV. So, she immediately ran to the neighbor’s house and called the police to arrest the criminal.
To sum up, while it is apparent that keep criminal’s information secretly to enradicate violance rate towards innocent people especially the criminal’s family, it is undeniable that government should make these important information availiable to every one to protect their citizens.
