It is widely believed that using technology in education has overcome learning efficiency, but others have the opposite opinion. While I agree that technology has improved education more effectively, I have to mention that technology may lead to a decrease in the quality of education. This essay will discuss the two perspectives as well as supporting my opinion.
On the one hand, the combination of technology in education may boost the learning outcomes in some specific areas such as graphic design or mathematics but it also has drawback. First, overreliance on technology may restrict student’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills. For instance, nowadays teenagers tend to depend on smart devices to help them deal with the problem rather than cope the issue by themselves. As a consequence, this issue may bring many bad habits and limit student’s abilities.
On the other hand, the uses of technology in education don’t really just have bad influences or declining quality of education, but they also bring benefits to the learners. One of the main reasons is that technology gives students a wide diversity of knowledge in all ranges and areas. With the help of technology, students look for any possible information from sharing flatform or academic knowledge just by searching on the taskbar. As a result, learners can have more information and more convenience than traditional ways.
Moreover, I do not fully agree with any of the arguments above, I believe that the best way is to use technology only to a certain extent. As a result, students may able to mitigate the drawbacks and take advantage of the abilities of technology in education.
In conclusion, although both arguments have their own points, I still believe that using technology for education to a certain extent is an effective method.
