Many people argue that adopting a meat-free diet is essential for improving health and preserving the environment. In my opinion, I partly agree with this opinion.
On the one hand, there are many advantages to a plant-based diet. Firstly, eating more vegetables and fruits can help people improve their health. A diet without meat is usually lower in fat and higher in vitamins, which help reduce the risk of famous illnesses such as heart disease, obesity, etc. In addition, eating less meat is very good for the planet. The meat industry uses a large amount of land and water to keep animals. By eating more plants, we can help save natural resources and protect the environment.
On the other hand, I do not believe that everyone should become a vegetarian. One reason is that meat is a very important food for people. It is the source to provide people with protein and energy. People who do gym, play sports or raise children need a large amount of nutrients that are hard to find in plants. Another reason is that in some cultures, meat becomes a traditional part of every meal. Thereby they have to follow their culture. Finally, forcing everyone to stop eating meat is very difficult. They find it hard to adopt a new habit and maintain it in a long term.
In conclusion, I partly agree that a meat-free diet is beneficial for health and our planet, but I do not encourage all people to adopt this diet.
