Many people believe that employees should work from home, while others think working in an office is better. This essay will discuss both views and at the end I will give my own opinion.
On the one hand, working from home is great because firstly you will avoid traffic, furthermore, you will not have to wake up early to prepare. It is basically taking you between one and two hours to prepare. So instead of a 9 to 5 you are really doing a 7 to 7 if you take into consideration the traffic and the preparation. For example I know a guy who works from home and he told me he really liked it as it removes many problems for him. Additionally he won’t have to pay for gas money now since his old job was far away from his home and an important part of his money goes to gas money.
On the other hand, some people prefer to work in an office because you feel like you are in a work environment. They prefer to keep their home as a relaxing place and not use it for both purposes. It is also helpful that you meet people physically and not digitally. A really helpful approach to make strong relations between coworkers. For example, my friend Joe works physically and he has made over 5 friends ! In his perspective it is worth it.
In my opinion, I think that working from home is better mainly because you are in a familiar and recognisable place. You can wear anything you want and you log off immediately from work without having to drive back.
In summary, while working in an office might have some benefits, I think that working remotely is by far the better option.
