On the one hand, a considerable number of individuals assert that the goal of education is having useful people to society. On the other hand, it is widely discussed that the aim of studying is to achieve personal desires. Both sides will be examined in the following paragraphs; however, from my perspective, the second view is more advantageous.
To begin with, nowadays, some people hold the view that members of public should be educated in order to benefit society. This is a reasonable viewpoint due to the fact that there is an increasing need for education among individuals. To be exact, there has always been a need for them, yet at the present, it is a highly required factor owing to recent developments, especially related to technology. As education systems are more likely to be based on technological improvements, people should be more intelligent since there is a huge number of fields to be well-operated by society and that is the reason why being aware of them is mandatory. Even though the majority of parents want their children to be well-educated for being advantageous to society, from my point of view, children’s own opinions should be more significant for everybody. For instance, regarding one of the families’ interview in Azerbaijan, some parents state that firstly, children should choose their paths not only because of being beneficial to society, but also for their own wishes.
Moreover, despite having educated individuals plays a significant role in society, a great figure of people’s personal statement is that people should study to fulfil their ambitions. The primary reason why it is discussed is that humans desire to reach their future goals to shape their lives, therefore, having a particularly preferred occupation is considered the meaning of studying. In my opinion, people should focus on improving themselves and choose in what manner to be a part of public independently due to mindsets of the youth. For example, a group of researchers tested the young in a certain neighbourhood and asked their ideas towards the purpose of education, unexpectedly, a great deal of them said students should study in order to achieve their ambitions.
In conclusion, in spite of including two essential perspectives, I hold the view of the purpose of education is to fulfil personal desires. Consequently, this view is mostly preferred rather than the first one especially among young individuals.
