Nowadays, gender equality is a significant issue in education. Some people argue that universities should admit same number of male and female students in every subject. However, I completely disagree with this opinion because university admission should based on talent, ability ,interest ,academic result rather than gender.
To begin with, it is impractical to take same number of boys and girls in every subjects. For example, some of the students may choice engineering, computing, music or while others choose health science, nursing , communication as their subject. If university forced on to main equal number of students in every subject , they would not be able to follow the students real choice. As a result, the education system may become less flexible or less suitable for students needs.
Furthermore, university should focus on talent and academic result for admission. If gender is used as a condition for admission, some of the highly qualified students may lose their opportunity even they have good academic result. Moreover, it would not be fair and could also be reduced the educational quality. University need to take students who have better marks and skillful. Therefore, merit base education is more important than gender.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree that universities should admit equal number of male and female students in every subjects. University should choose students based on good result , interest and ability
