It has been argued by a number of people that teachers should concentrate on academic knowledge more than inspiring or motivated students. I wholeheartedly disagree with the given statement on the basis of the significant effect of motivation on students’ private and professional life.
To begin with, teachers should concentrate on the value of motivated students, resulting in the fact that students can preserve their motivation in emergency or arduous circumstances that can exert on their concentration or motivation. Undoubtedly, if teachers only attempt to focus on pedagogy or teaching academic lessons irrespective of students’ interest and the amount of incentive, it can exert an adverse effect on their mind because of the synergy between motivation and mental health. When students have sufficient motivation in their life, it can lead to embarking on different projects or activities based on their interest such as music, art, sport not particularly a branch of academic lessons, leading to the increase in their ability to choose their trajectory of life such as entering the industry or job market as well as being an artist or athletes. For example, in some countries such as Iran, students are always bombarded with different negative happening that can have a detrimental impact on their life or decisions, resulting in the fact that most of the students are interested in entering in industry or job market. Because of this reason, students should conserve their motivation at school not learning a large number of academic lessons.
Having said that, if teachers seek to incentive their students, they can make better decision in their private life. It is mainly because academic information is completely useless in private life regardless of their fields, while people, especially students, heavily rely on their social skills and the ability to being motivated in challenging situation. Moreover, it can exert a positive effect on students’ mental ability to be strong in demanding circumstances because they get used to be powerful and keep their perseverance or tenacity for the purpose of solving their responsibilities or problems. To illustrate, if students have motivation in their private life, they can build enterprising plan for their future or job prospects, whereas in most of the fields or job positions, knowing about different aspects of academic knowledge cannot play a significant role.
In the light of these facts, although some people believe that the effect of academic knowledge on students’ life is undeniable, the role of motivation is sharper than academic. In addition, not only can it exert a positive effect on students’ private life but also can have a profound impact on their decisions about following their interest.
