Some people advocate that the ideal method which improves teamwork and strategy skills is watching sports, while others believe that the only way to learn these skills is playing sports. From my perspective, people should combine two methods since each way has its unique advantages that assist them in enhancing necessary skills.
On the one hand, watching sports is a useful way in learning skills due to several reasons. First of all, it allows spectators to observe how professional athletes, teams communicate and corporate in competition, since then, they are able to improve teamwork skills through investigating high-level strategies used in the match. Moreover, in a game, sports commentators also often offer a detailed analysis that helps watchers, who are not familiar with the rules, be able to comprehend the tactics being used and how players support each other in the match. For instance, when watching a match, viewers can easily understand how players adapt their strategies and how teamwork influences the outcomes thanks to commentators. This can give watchers a general picture of how a team functions and how strategy plays a role in success.
On the other hand, the most effective way to build important life skills like teamwork is hand-on experience. Playing sports offer opportunities for individuals to work with others as a team, each player has a specific role so success depends on how they communicate, and support each other. For example, in a football match, if players do not have time to practice with others in the team, they will not win that game since they do not know how to respond to situations together. In addition, playing sports can help people develop strategic thinking because during a game, players have to make quick decisions, analyze opponents’ strategy as well as adjust their own tactics. Over time, they might apply different strategies based on different situations and these skills are not only crucial in sports but also in daily life.
In conclusion, both ways are useful for individuals in enhancing their skills like teamwork and strategic thinking. For watching sports, people have opportunities to watch and analyze the game carefully while playing sports, individuals can communicate with others, since then they are able to learn how to solve different issues in a suitable way. From my perspective, individuals should adopt a balanced approach by integrating both methods since playing and watching sports offer numerous chances for people to learn skills.
