In recent years, fashion has played a major role in modern society. Some argue that fashion can be considered an art form, offering creativity and brightening our lives, while others see it as a waste of time and money.
The fashion industry has always been one of the biggest fields all over the globe. Therefore, it has influenced many aspects of society. One of the main factors is the fashion event. By spending generously on advertisements and branding name, for instance, Coca-Cola once had an advertising campaign during the 1930s which featured the red Santa, who was previously known for his green cloak. After this occurrence, many believed Santa had a red cloak instead of green, and hence the economy benefited from it. Furthermore, fashionistas must put in effort in order to generate high-quality products with beautiful color schemes and meaningful messages, making fashion an art. On the other hand, advocates of the ideology view fashion as a waste of time and money. There are plenty of reasons for that thought. Firstly, there are branding taxes. For example, when Supreme and The North Face collaborated to create their collection, they produced several jackets ranging from $1500 to $5000. These prices are inflated because of the Supreme logo, as the same jacket without the branding is sold for $150. Furthermore, some people prioritize convenience over fashion trends. From their perspective, spending money and time on a piece of clothing that will just end up in the laundry is a waste..
In conclusion, both sides have reasonable reasons in many ways, but in my opinion, fashion is one of the most important art forms ever created. Not only do fashionistas have to put effort, passion, and time into it, but it also holds significant cultural and artistic value.
