In our contemporary era, the magnitude of art has become more significant for some people. However, in my opinion, this trend just happens in the minority and the majority of the world still gives more privileges to technology over art.
On the one hand, it is undoubted that art, including music, literature, and painting, has drawn more attention. Thanks to advancements in science and technology, the overall living standard and well-being of humans have been rapidly enhanced, leading to the fulfillment of material needs in most of society. Hence, it is inevitable that the demands for mental recreation are soaring. For example, nowadays, the rich, who have financial capabilities, are willing to afford thousands of dollars for a musical concert of their favorite singers. As a result, the art industry has been burgeoning and lucrative in recent decades.
On the other hand, technology still holds a dominant position, contributing substantially to the development of the world. This is because technology is indispensable, playing a crucial role in our lives. To illustrate, due to the growth in technology, electronic devices, such as smartphones and computers were devised, fostering better productivity at workplaces and schools, making our lives more convenient. Therefore, most of the people give more importance to technology over art. For instance, students are generally encouraged to pursue technology-related majors at universities to meet the needs of a highly skilled labor force. Thus, currently, technology undeniably overshadows art.
In conclusion, while a small part of the world probably focuses on ar, I firmly believe the remainder still prioritizes technology owing to its contribution to humanity.
