Some believe that employees should work less and have more weekends. I agree that the working week should be shorter in order to maintain work-life balance in workers’ lives, which will also lead to better outcomes results for the company.
Having shorter working week days can significantly improve employees’ work-life balance, leading to greater overall life satisfaction. By having an extra day off each week, workers can spread more time on for personal interests, self- care, spend quality time with families and friends, and be involved in activities that boost overall human well-being. Many people complain about not having enough time with their families, especially those with children, which makes them feel guilty, since weekends are usually spent on household chores and finishing leftover works. As the result, with more free time, employees can dedicate more attention to their families. Indeed, with the bustle of life, people sometimes completely forget about their health, hobbies and other needs. This often happens due to lack of free time, consequently, they lose the balance between work and personal life which can lead to potential mental health problems. Therefore, better balance between the different aspects of individuals’ lives encourages general wellbeing.
Another reason why longer weekends can be crucial is enhancing productivity of workers, paving the way towards better performance in so companies and employers also get better outcomes. If companies effectively manage work periods effectively, employees may reduce unnecessary distractions, as they know that they have less time during the workdays to complete their tasks, so they spend the workday being productive. For example, if a company switches to a four-day workweek, workers will have more time to recharge and their overall performance will be better.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that longer weekends can remarkably improve the lives of workers, allowing them to have more time for themselves and loved ones. This balance ensures workers’ productivity at work and companies’ better progress.
