Band 4+: Some people say that technologies such as mobile phones are disrupting social interaction.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Usuaaly people agree that mobile phones and other modern technologies can disrupt social interaction. I can’t fully agree on this statement. Modern techologies have many benefits for communication, also at the same time many people lost the themselves in virtual world, and not really ready to go into real, enjoy every moment of life.

First of all, the biggest pros of inventing online communication is that people through different apps have opportunities to communicate with people from different countiries, cities. Distant relatives, close friends, classmates who moved abroad or just to another city have opportunity just in a few seconds to call and tell news, congratulate with getting new job or just to chat. People don’t have to sent paper letter and wait weeks for answers, they can see each other and communicate easily nowadays.

Another point of view is that people can hardly balance online life with real one. Thus, they sometimes live only in the online reality. Social platforms, Youtube, Instagram and others took a big amount of time of our lives. Working at home, ordering food online, chatting… All the time we are at home in front of our screens. There is no need to go out. We communicate, but only online. Therefore, when the time comes we feel irritated, unconfident talking to people in person. In front of our screen we have time, we can google any minute a questions or ask correct answer. In person we don’t have ton to overthink, we just nervesly say what in our mind.

Modern technologies are crucial in our lives, also people by themselves schould take control of their lives and balance online, real lives.
