The phenomenon of globalization undoubtedly presents numerous opportunities for enhanced connectivity across the globe. However, this has sparked a contentious debate. Some argue that increased business and cultural interactions between nations may lead to the erosion of national identities. In my opinion, the exchange of business and culture between countries has significantly more advantages than disadvantages.
On one hand, the expansion of international corporations fosters economic development in various nations, as these enterprises often seek low-cost labor. This demand can benefit developing countries, enabling them to generate substantial revenues that contribute to their economic growth. For instance, many factories in Vietnam require a vast workforce, despite the workforce often lacking standard academic qualifications. This globalization trend not only revitalizes local economies but also promotes national and regional tourism, which is aimed at showcasing cultural heritage on a global scale. Additionally, local crafts and cuisines can be exported internationally, providing financial benefits that can further enhance infrastructure and development.
Conversely, it is an exaggeration to claim that these developments will result in a loss of national identity. Rather than overlooking their heritage, many governments implement traditional methods to promote their cultural legacies. Furthermore, younger generations actively engage with social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok to share videos that highlight their cultural heritage, drawing worldwide attention. These contributions illustrate that multiculturalism plays a significant role in contemporary society, encouraging open-mindedness and diverse perspectives.
In conclusion, I contend that the process of globalization yields more benefits than drawbacks. However, governments must play a pivotal role in orienting young people about the importance of maintaining their national identities in this rapidly globalizing world.
