The development of internet was intended for military purpose later it transitioned to communicating among scientists and now, it is in everyone’s hand. It is constant argue among people that internet will overtake newspapers and magazines for news delivery mean. I completely agree with this statement.
Generally speaking, people prefer the transfer speed over the mean of information. The news are covered on the websites and social media applications way more earlier than the convientional newspapers. For an instance, the news of dispute between the mayor of Kathmandu and Road division got viral on Facebook (an internet based social media app) on the same day however, different magazines printed it the very next day. Most of the people were not interested in the news as they had got to know about it earlier.
Another factor that should be considered is convenience. The advancement of smartphones contributed a significant portion for changing the way we use internet. It is more convenient to read news articles on the phones compared to going to market and buying the old school newspaper. On top of that, one need to spend considerably small amount of money on internet for the information in comparision over newspapers.
Additionally, the magazines need to publish different advertisements to overcome the production cost as news and information do not pay the cost. So, a significant portion of newspaper is occupied by adds rather than the actual incident which annoys the reader quite often.
In conclusion, I must say the method of delivery of information and convenience plays a considerable role in choosing the medium news transfer and indeed most preferred mean for information information and news delivery will be internet.
