Some opine that parents should take special courses to improve their children’s development. In my opinion, such classes can be helpful, so that I agree with this statement and in this essay I will try to explain my point of view.
Firstly, it can be said that a lot of young people may not have enough knowledge to be a parent. Such kind of situation is a consequence of changed social values. For example, these days there are considerably more books and magazines, web-sites about business and career than family life. In addition, information about positive influence on shaping a personality is not widespread. Thus, parenting classes can help young parents feel themselves confident by taking useful and practical information.
Secondly, there are crucial differences between patterns of behavior of the previous generation and the current one. There are a lot of cases when grandmother’s and grandfather’s knowledge and advices are undoubtedly relevant. Nevertheless, parents of young mothers and fathers often do not understand modern principles and standards of communication with children. As a result, it can be argued that special courses can help parents deal with the modern problems that they can face during the development process of their children nowadays.
Finally, it also should be mentioned that a lot of children have problems with development caused not only by children’s nervious system, but also by modern lifestyle of their parents. The latter ones do not spend enough time with their children and consequently social skills and simple knowledge are not formed in a family. On this contidion parenting school is an instrument for increasing a responsibility of mother and father.
In conclusion, it can be said that there are some advantages of parenting courses and it should be recommended to take them for parents to a successful children development.
