As the origin of illnesses and diseases, environmental pollution and housing problems are always being paid attention. Not only scientists, but also common people are caring about how to deal with the question of preventing illness and disease. Then, some groups, who notice the origin of those terrifying virus and other micro lifes, start to highlight the importance of the reduction of environmental pollution and housing problems. In my opinion, it is totally correct and worthwhile to look for methods to apply the idea.
It is easy to observe the positive effect that focusing on environmental pollution and housing problems will bring to the society. Firstly, taking steps to directly solve those problems can help the work of prevention also directly. By dircetly coming out the policies of reducing the pollution, including air, water and soil pollution, and housing problems, the whole society will slowly found a higher level of living standard, and then because of the higher quality of the surroundings people are living in, the satisfaction of the government as well as the health standard will then increase. Secondly, by working out these basic living problems, the further impact on other aspects can also affect the development of medical and healthcare, and so that people will get much more safer environment to live and work. After the development of the living environment, the country will attract an increase number of immigration, and besides that is the no-more-need of taking care of those whose health condition is not so good, so that people who are always carry the responsibility of taking care of them can have a chance of working. That will lead to an economic growth and a lower level of unemployment, which lead to more taxation to the government who are about to give subsidies to the companies, and more investment and abnormal profits for the medical firms. Further and sufficient development of medicine will then come true and that can contribute to ensure the protection of the society.
Some critics will argue that it is a waste of money and time to pay so much attention on those substaintial and common questions. This perspective can be evidently persuaded by the following reasons. It is clear that the speed of only developing medicine and healthcare technology cannot catch up with the speed of the change in virus and other harmful species. For example, if scientists and the government spend a lot of money and workforce on advanced medicine and treating technologies only, they will soon find that after a few years’ work, the projects they are working on everyday has already being no use and that is the truly “a waste of time and investment”. Besides, the over attention on technological programs can lead to a wider gap of rich and the poor. Higher level of the effect of the medicine usually means a higher level of price, which the poor will hard to afford, but without any effect on the rich, which is a terrible hit on equity. If the government invest the protection on the poor’s life, the public and private sectors will then found that less and less government expenditure on truly worthy areas, cause the result of a worse situation in the country. Consequently, if we refuse to associate in the basic living problems, that can bring up many more seiours and significant problems.
In conclusion, it is in need for the government to focus more on reducing environmental pollution and housing problems. If the society can deal with all of those that related to the living standard, then the overall health condition can be extremely improved, which lead to a further economic growth.
