Some see sports only as leisure activities and others think that sports play a more important role. In this essay, I will discuss both views and will explain why I believe that sports play a more important role in peoples’ lives.
Sports are a great leisure activity for people. People can communicate effectively even without speaking the same language and share wonderful feelings through their activities. For example, when people from different countries play the same sport, they can share enthusiastic feelings with each other. For example, when Japanese schools invited some New Zealand rugby players from N.Z to play with their students, they both enjoyed playing the same sport and interacting with different people from different countries. They purely enjoyed mixing teams, playing the same sports learning skills from each other without language barriers and communicating through sports. Clearly, sports play a big role in leisure activities.
On the other hand, others believe that sports play a more important role in helping people maintain healthy lives. In recent days, the population of chronic diseases is increasing, such as diabetes and obesity, and these illnesses can prevent people from having enough sports time. For instance, when people with diabetes engage in enough daily exercise, they can moderate their blood glucose levels to avoid medication, and if people have enough sports time planned for their lives, they will not have such an issue with obesity. These are sufficient reasons why people should consider sports not only for leisure activities but also believe that sports play a more important role in their lives because they can help prevent people from developing chronic diseases.
In conclusion, looking at both views, I believe that sports play a more important role as they can protect people from developing chronic diseases.
