In the contemporary era, there has been an assertion that arts subjects like painting or drawing should be optional for upper secondary pupils instead of the obligation. This essay aims to advocate this notion in view of its benefits.
On the one hand, I posit that arts spur valuable advantages to students. As allowing them to illustrate and express their ideas by various media such as pen and colors, arts are conducive to boltering pupils’ creativity enhancement. In their art works, they will regularly harness their imagination to create various kinds of things related to their preferences, thereby fostering this aspect of students. In this way, this promoted feature can support them in work mandated it, leading to better working productivity in the future.
Conversely, I firmly believe that the compulsion of studying arts can trigger negative outcomes. In fact, each pupil has their own strength, so they should focus on this, which will enable them to outperform others, especially in the future workforce. For this reason, instead of learning arts subjects, it is pupils’ interest to learn their favorite subjects, which they are willing to allocate time for exploration and discovery. For instance, if a student longs to be a lawyer, why does he have to study compulsory arts subjects? This will provoke an inefficient time investment, so it will be better if he can concentrate on studying relevant subjects, which supports him in the future, instead.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly agree with this notion owing to greater advantages that students will receive in the later time.
