Entered high school is a important sign for everyone – regardless grandparents or students; moreover, in this cutting edge level, the changes are assumed that more than elementary and secondary school. Art is a very popular subject in two level before, but to students preparing for go to university, I deliberately believe that painting or drawing should not be made obligatory for them.
Firstly, time table for high school students is extended around all kind of science from natural such as physic, mathematic,… to social such as geography, history,… . I feel extremely anxiety that face to a tight table as that, can they spend time for themselve? And if we demand them learn subject depend on favourite more as art, this action is put more and more depressed on them. For instance, instead relaxing spritual power and improve mental health after exhausted study time, they even need to do drawing due to do not want to receive a bad point from teacher.
Secondly, painting is a subject help learner develope imagine ability, detect their strong point, and navigate their future career or major; however, not only painting can do these funtions, but also a lot of subjects can, depend on every students’ personality and habit. We should regard their desire, for example, high school – even elementary and secondary school – should organize lots type of club, such as dance crew club, photography club,… should not limit their talent in a small subject.
Although art subject has its own advantage, disadvantage is said that should not be ignored. Besides this subject is not over-necessary, increases heavily pressure on minor. Because of existed dark aspects, I do not think that drawing should be made compulsory in high school level.
