Many people believe that increasing the cost of vehicle fuel is the best approach of solving air pollution in cities. Whereas others suggest different approaches such as car pooling, government promoting electric cars.
Firstly, people believe that increase in cost of fuel will help with air pollution, as it will discourage individuals from using their personal vehicles and opting for public transport such as metro and city bus. For instance, people who earlier used their vehicles for commute will now opt for cost effective public mode of transport due to increase in cost of operating their vehicles.
On the contrary, many people argue that carpooling and government promoting greener alternative such as electric vehicles will be more effective method to combating air pollution. As car pool will reduce the amount vehicles on road as same amount of people are travelling in less number of vehicles reducing air pollution. In addition, electric vehicles do not produce and air pollution also is a viable option to prevent air pollution. In my opinion, these options are well equipped to combat air pollution.
In conclusion, to combat air pollution government can raise the fuel prices or individuals can take the initiative to voluenteer for carpooling and using electric vehicle.
