However, others argue that it is better to build a social life with people outside the workplace. In this essay, both views hold merit; however, the second perspective brings more significant values for individuals.
On the one hand, the workplace may be an ideal environment for fostering social connections and motivating individuals’ career aspirations. Such relationships encourage individuals to support and learn from one another, while they also improve communication skills and maintain job satisfaction. Additionally, healthy relationships among co-workers can enhance productivity for businesses. As a result, social life not only maintains a positive attitude towards their profession, but it also enhances better outcomes for business and develops workers’ careercareers in the long term.
On the other hand, although workplace relationships can bring certain benefits, they still have several drawbacks. To begin with, the nature of maintaining friendships in the workplace mostly benefits avoiding conflicts or gaining interests, making them less stressful when attending in the job market. Undeniably, developing relationships with people from diverse backgrounds or common passions without work-related pressure should not be ignored. For instance, participating in clubs or courses helphelps people support each other’s emotional feelings and mutual understanding, which fosterfosters an authentic connection that may not be found in a professional environment. In that sense, maintaining a real relationship is regarded as a meaningful opportunity to have a sense of happiness/overall well-being.
