In modern era, cooking has become an essential part of everyday life. Some people believe that, cooking skills should be obtained at school by the children, however others feel that it should not. From my perspective, I completely disagree with the statement that learning cooking at the school is important.
Generally speaking, there are two main reasons why people believe that, at the school, children should learn how to make food is essential. Perhaps, the main reason why people are in favor of it because, It promotes health awareness. To illustrate, children would be motivated to consume the meals made by them at home rather than buying from outside. It will help them to stay healthy and safe. Secondly, another reason of the beliefs is, Life skill developments. One of the essential skills is Cooking. If the children have it, they would be self – reliable which helps them to make their own foods. For example, the school going children are often go to some learning camps, if they know how to cook, they will definitely do it by their own-self. The parents should not have to worry about them.
On the other hand, there is also a case for the idea is that, leaning Cooking should be avoided at the school. There are two reasons of it. Firstly, there are high risk of learning the cooking in a such young age. The children aren’t so aware about the stoves, as a result, they could burn them selves with high flames while cooking, moreover, the knifes would be riskier for them. such as, hot oil and using knifes inappropriately could lead to accident which would be life threats for them. a further point in favor of the disagreement is that, the children would be less attentive to their studies, Such as, Math & science which needs more attention.
In conclusion, considering both sides of the argument, I strongly believe that, Children should not learn cooking at the school. The school period should be only for studies as it will help them in the long learn if they remain attentive to their academic study. Being safe is also important.
