This is mainly due to poor town planning, but there are some changes should be made to tackle this situation. This essay will shade lights on both, problem and the solution.
Firstly, one of the main reason why cities are facing this problem is because of the flaws in town planning and the sudden migiration to metro cities from urban area for employment, studies and for better quality of life. For instance, according to recent survey of people settle in Tokyo in last one decade is doubled the population of Tokyo. As a result this lead to over crowd of the city and shortage of housing.
However, there are solutions which can be taken to the account to tackel this issue. Firstly, vertical growth ( high-rise buildings) and underground apartment system are the main solution, due to this people will have more and more apartment to live. Furthermore, government can provide better transport system linking cities to rural area so people should not have to settle in the towns. For instance, a fast, cheap, and comfortable transport system will provide employment and also help the overall economy of the country.
