Healthcare is a vital need for individuals in any country. Therefore, all citizens should recieve free medical services offered by the government. Although there might be some problems with free healthcare, I agree with this idea for some reasons.
On the one hand, free healthcare provided by government has two main drawbacks. Firstly, it can lead to overuse of services. This is because people might seek care for minor ailments that could have been handled without medical intervention. It can strain the system and the medical staffs. Secondly, providing free healthcare for everyone causes longer waiting times. This is because there can be observed increasing non-emergency demands in some medical systems. In turn, this requires patients to wait longer than usual conditions.
On the other hand, I would argue there are some great benefits of this idea as well. Firstly, free healthcare gives opportunity to universal access. This is because everyone, despite their income and social status can have access to it. This helps to improve the health of the population. Secondly, if people don’t have to pay for it, it allows reducing the rates of mortality. This is because early diagnosis of the diseases helps to prevent dangerous illnesses which can cause the death of the people. This can prevent population declines during pandemics or other type of fast spread infectious diseases.
