Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The argue whether studying history is meaningless or has beneficial impacts on people’s lives is a subject that sparks intense debate. Those who believe in the former view cite that traditional ways of living serve no real purpose for today’s evolving world. The advothatcates of the latter notion insist that history is one of the neccessary tools for reacing an ideal society, which seems to be more logical.

The supporters of studying history subscribe that doing so is imparative for delving into the origins of the cultures. This stems from the fact that customs of different nations have been formed through instilling beliefs and values into people’s minds over centuries, and a fraction of these veiwpoints have entered a country by invasions of aliens. The very epiteme of this is successive attacks of Moghule people invading Iran seven centuries ago and devestating myriad historical books and poetries, which had indispensible effects on the national identity of the public afterwards. Being aware of such serious historical moments and their repercusions, as a result, could profoundly help human beings eliminate or refine faulty parts of their traditions, leading to a more ideal society with higher moral values.

On the other side of the debate, critics of this allege that knowing about past events would be worthless inasmuch as conventional ways of living have been expired and are not of practicality nowadays. The very cited examples of this are the variations between communication and transportation methods in the past and in the present. Such differences, the supporters say, act as a deterent against history conveying invaluable lessons for today’s lives. Contrary to this notion, it is conceivable that, albeit useless in some superficial aspects, investigating ones ancsesters’ living precedure helps individuals lead a better lifestyle as human beings, regardless of the era living, have had many intrinsic characteristics in common. Observing their actions and the corresponding consequences can act as a stumbling block towards leading themselves astray in similar circumstances.

To recapitulate, The idea of ignoring historical events would seem to be on the brink of collapse. This is due to the fact that this branch of science holds a lot of advantagous insights for those who are inclined to thrive their lives in many aspects.
