Nowadays, global environmental questions have become one of the most considerable issues. People argue that inflate fuel prices is the best way to reduce this problems. Although I agree that increasing costs can have a positive effect on environment, I believe that it is not affordable for every citizen and can led to a decrease in the use of transport by people.
On the one hand, increasing the cost of fuel can encourage people to use less private transport. When petrol becomes more expensive, many individuals prefer public transportation, cycling, or walking instead of driving cars. As a result, the number of vehicles on the roads decreases, which helps reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. For example, in some countries higher fuel taxes have led to lower fuel consumption and improved air quality.
On the other hand, increasing fuel prices alone cannot solve global environmental problems. Many industries, such as transportation and manufacturing, still depend heavily on fossil fuels. If the price of fuel rises significantly, it may create economic difficulties for businesses and ordinary people. Therefore, governments should also invest in renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power and improve public transportation systems to provide environmentally friendly paths.
In conclusion, although raising the cost of fuel can help decrease pollution and encourage people to reduce car usage, it is not the only solution.
