There are several individuals who hold the belief that parents ought to concentrate on caring physical health of their offspring instead of spirit power. In my opinion, I partly agree with this statement because not only the physical health contribute a significant part in growth of children but the mental health is also an essential factor in the development of both the physical and psychological health.
On the one hand, ensuring physical health is essential for children’s growth. First, a child with a healthy body will grow up happily and have a good lifestyle. For example, if parents usually spend quality time for their children with outdoor activities such as doing exercise or playing sports, this will help form healthy habits for minors from the early age. Secondly, proper nutrition is crucial for health and disease prevention. If bad eating habits develop, children will not receive proper nutrients for growth, and may suffer from physical illnesses such as obesity and osteoporosis. Therefore, parents need help their children bring up daily eating and exercise habits to create a good foundation to reduce the burden of disease in adulthood and comprehensive development.
On the other hand, good mental health is an extremely crucial factor for well-being of children. To begin with, a child who has a happy life will grow better physically than children with the opposite situation. To illustrate, if kids are mentally stressed, their body will have difficulty absorbing nutrients. Consequently, poor digestion makes children lack energy for daily activities. Next, Children with poor mental health in childhood are often psychologically weak when faced with challenges in life and tend to think negatively. This makes it difficult for them to integrate with people, separating themselves from the community and society.
All things considered, although parents should focus on the growth of children’s physical health, I still believe that mental health is very vital for children’s development.
