It is sometimes believed that the government should impose a ban on advertisements that have an influence on children. This essay strongly agrees with this suggestion for several reasons. The first argument given to support my opinion is that the inappropriate content damages children’s mental health and mindset. In fact, a lot of advertisements’ content are not filtered, which causes children to have an opportunity to watch toxic, adult ads. As a result, this may lead to the mental problems such as violent behaviors, anxiety, toxic mindsets and depression. For instance, juveniles can watch the advertisement of action games or action toys with these violent action especially shot zombies, monsters, etc.. on Youtube, thereby becoming more aggressive. They will think real world is the same as the world in this advertisement and they can do anything what they want. This is why I think that advertisements should be banned that affect children’s mental health.
Another point behind my belief is that the advertisements make a serious decline in their concentrated ability. Stems from the fact that children can not focus on the video what they are watching, when a advertise coincidentally appears. After a long time they exposure this phenomenon, their ability to concentrate tend to decrease, which is likely to hinder their learning ability and problem-solving skills. Therefore, they may abuse short videos because ads lengths from 10 seconds to 30 seconds, which makes them become intoxicating. For this reason, I believe that the imposing a prevention on ads may improve their concentration.
In conclusion , I totally approve that the prohibition of advertisements affecting children given the aforementioned arguments.
