Some individuals believe that arts and humanities an important area of study for students at school while others argue that it is a misuse of time. Both perspectives will be discussed before presenting my own view.
On the one hand, children can learn about history through art. In other words, all forms of creative studies have historical value, which should known by all people. Moreover, schoolchildren need to develop a broad range of skills. In today’s fast changing world, everywhere require a combination of creative and practical attitudes. For instance, a child who learns painting or playing an instrument can improve patience and self-expression.
On the other hand, cultural subjects are overrated and do nor prepare undergraduates for their future careers. It means, science is more useful as it can lead to the study of medicine and disease. For example, the discover of antibiotics and vaccines has saved millions of lives something art could not achieve.
In my opinion, art has not significant role like science in emerging nation. If there are more life vital lessons in school curriculum, our country will develop considerably year by year. Therefore, I consider studing art at school is an ineffective use of time.
