Recently, the question of when a child should start formal education has sparked widespread debate. Some people believe that children should begin formal education at an early age. Others argue that they should start when they are at least 7 years old. In this essay, we will explore both perspectives before sharing my own.
According to some, the starting phase of the children’s lives plays an important role in their knowledge building. Moreover, knowledge gained during the early phase will add value to their lives. It is vital that they get proper exposure to formal learning which can make their knowledge base deeper and stronger. Overall, it will add a deep understanding of subjects which can help them solve real world challenges. For instance, they will have substantial advantage in complex subjects like mathematics if they learn vedic maths at a younger age.
However, others believe that children should focus on engaging learning based games at an early age. Scientific studies have also concluded that outdoor activities play a crucial role in developing kids’ minds. In addition, having formal education at a younger age won’t add any value to their lives because there is a strong chance that they might fail to remember all the information. Finally, children should spend as much time as possible with their parents and participate in unique activities. For example, problem solving games, games which require creative thinking.
In conclusion, I believe that children should not be introduced to formal education at a young age because at that age they should be focusing on playing games and having fun. In addition, formal learning at a young age won’t be very effective because they will not recall all the information. Moreover, parents should prepare creative and unique games which can develop cognitive thinking and enhance cognitive skills. Therefore, a delayed start to formal learning will be more beneficial to children’s lives.
