Many people consider that the popularity of cinemas is fading away because the Internet offers the same services online. Although cinemas are a great way of going out and socializing with close ones, in my opinion, busy schedules and the sedentary lifestyle of many people are causing this kind of entertainment to disappear.
Cinemas are traditionally thought to be great fun to enjoy together with friends or family members. A number of older people still go to the cinema to watch movies, especially newly released blockbusters and premieres, which may not be available for streaming at home or online. Furthermore, many young people visit cinemas not only to see new films but also to spend time with their peers.
Nevertheless, the proportion of individuals who are in favor of activities like going out and watching films at the cinema is becoming smaller due to the hectic pace of modern life. Many people work long hours because they are the breadwinners of their families and have to earn a reasonable amount of money to meet their needs. They prefer to spend precious time at home relaxing after a busy day. Others simply watch TV at home due to their unwillingness to go out. This is mainly because there is a wide choice of websites that they can use to watch their favorite films. The Internet provides access to a great variety of film genres for free, in contrast to the cinema.
In conclusion, even though cinemas can enable people to spend time having fun both socially and emotionally, today’s lifestyle and technology are making them shut down in the future.
