Pollution is a growing concern in many countries, driven by various contributing factors. There is a strong argument that companies and individuals should be financially responsible for the pollution they generate, while the government should not bear the cost. In my point of view, I completely agree with this statement due to the maintenance of the environment and the restriction of the phenomenon of over-polluting.
Firstly, there should be an environmental tax on factories that cause adverse environmental production, which the government will use to clean up the polluting activities. Without tackling it, the pollution will be exacerbated over time. Therefore, implementing an environmental tax will act as a regulation to compel companies to pay for the pollution they produce, and the government will not pay for environmental cleanup. Instead, they use the tax money from polluting companies to rectify and maintain the environmental conditions. For example, Vietnam has a tax regulation for companies that run pollution-related activities with a fee that can depend on the mass of pollution they produce.
Secondly, individuals who cause environmental pollution should also pay for their contaminating activities. For example, people who pollute the environment through transportation should be responsible for their actions, and the government should not pay for them. Therefore, they should pay for the polluting activities to cease the excessive pollution. For instance, in England, a law states that old drivers whose cars cause adverse pollution will have to pay up to 16 dollars a day. Henceforth, This implementation will significantly reduce pollution in the country
In conclusion, companies and individuals must pay for their environmental pollution, as regulations will address this issue instead of the government resolving it on its own.
