It is believed by some individuals that construction of larger infrastructures will be helpful in prevention of issues of traffic. In my opinion, I agree that constrution of bigger roads will prevent traffic problems in future, however, thats not the only thing that can help with prevension of traffic issues.
Firstly, prevention of traffic problems can be really challenging, but with good infrastructure it can be prevented easily. Having good infrastructure in cities is crucial for safety, around 45% of Podgorica’s city centar is in traffic during its peak times, but with bigger length between buildings, it is possible to make it more functional. During this time most of the people are coming back home from jobs, which is one of the biggest reason of the traffic issues, but making wider streets can significantly reduce traffic.
On the other hand, sometimes is impossible to build bigger roads, because some places are naturally crowded because of the amount of people who live in that area. Foe example, in New York, in city center, it is impossible to make bigger infrastructure, because of the buildings around it. However, they could prevent traffic, by putting city centar driving tariffs. Whoever drives trough city center, has to pay certain amount of tax monthly.
In conclusion, traffic issue, is really big problem especially when its not possible to make wider infrastructure like in Podgorica’s city center. However, it can be reduced significantly by putting city center tariffs for drivers, like they did in New York city center.
