Band 6+: some people think that construction bigger roads will help to prevent traffic problems? to what extent do you agree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people are of the view that building larger roads would aid in preventing congestion. In my opinion, that would be a yes, but however, we still require regulatory traffic control practices to make way for vehicles to ride at a given pace, without much hindrance. Bigger roadways are of immense advantage in the sense that gigantic vehicles such as buses, trucks and lorries can navigate their way through the city, despite occupying lots of space.

The “two-way” routes become easier to monitor with wide roads- it is less chaotic and the chances of major accidents are almost second to none, if the speed limits are followed consciously. Major gatherings can easily be monitored in such roadways, with security personnel leveraging missed out opportunities to express their devotion at work.

Will just laying huge paths for vehicles solve the problem of traffic in roads? No, it will not. Speed limits need to be adhered to by drivers. Traffic policemen must actively look out for defaulters- those who succumb to road rage, bystanders who cause unncessary commotion, people who do not have a proper driver’s license, and note down their vehicle numbers. The next time, if rules aren’t followed- instead of charging them a fee of £10 or £20, their vehicles could be debarred from crossing the city limits. And for those policemen who accept bribes, due punishment as ordered by the Traffic Control Organisation must be given.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Gigantic flyovers are often fancied by premium builders. Getting a lift in smooth roads is something we all desire- hence regulatory policies coupled with optimum space for vehicles is the need of the hour.
