It is extremely important to conserve the cultural heritage of a country. Some experts believe that the rapidly growing tourism industry causes the disappearance of local culture and customs, whereas opponents argue that preserving local culture is plausible only when the country has ample tourists. In this essay, I will examine both sides of the argument and provide my overall opinion. Generally speaking, there are many reasons why people think that increased travellers in a country is responsible for damaging its traditons and history. Firstly, when ample tourits from diverse area of the globe come to visit a country, local people tend to provide tourist friendly services. For example, in many countries, hotels and restaurents prepare varity of foreign cusine rather than their traditional dishes. Secondly, individuals are joining the tourism industries who were involved in making traditional goods. For instance, in Bangladesh, those who worked in the weaving and pottery industries are now working in factories.
Conversely, opponents suggest that visitors always desire to explore diverse cultures and customs around the earth, which in turn boosts the economy of the world. A good illustration of this is that Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace Museum in Turkey captivate thousands of tourists every year, which consequently helps the authority to bear the expenses of maintenance and preservation of their historical buildings and traditions. In addition, travelers from different areas shop traditional goods as souvenirs, which also encourages locals to produce traditional stuff with great creativity.
Having considered both sides of the issue, I would argue that conserving own cultures and histories is one of the keys to alluring a lot of tourists and exploreers, which is substential to improving the country’s economy.
