there is an argument that government should focus and invest more money in public service rather than arts such as music and painting. Im both agree and disagre with this statement depends on the situation.
I agree because, public service is a basic needs of citizens. It help to provide resources, not only physical like mass public transport, highway, railway but also pyschological need such as education, religion support, and economy. If public service are not provided properly, it will be wise for the authorities focusing on increasing this sector rather than the other thing like art
I disagree because i believed thar all form of art is important, it not only help to build self actualization and also national identity. However, by improving art sector there are several benefits like supporting MSEs, attract tourist and give people space to show off their talent. For example, investing on arts would create people to enhance their talent, create some creative product (statue, batik, clothes), and make a new comodities for improve overall nation income source
in conclusion, both factor indeed important but it will be more wise if government consider their national need, if their basic need are fulfilled then put some investation on arts would be great.
