When a country is enough rich, some citizens think that the rise of wealth will not increase the index of national happiness. From my personal perspectives, I tend to say that this view is irrational because of a lack of causal relationship and an incorrect view.
There is no connection between enough wealth and the happiness caused by the rise of economic wealth in a country. A country is wealthy, representing a large number of citizens have basic or high-quality living standards. Moreover, this country might used a larger proportion of government’s budget to improve the living environment and foundamental constructions in the past. However, the national happiness cannot be measured by the wealth in a country, which means the happiness is a sense or an emotion instead of how much people own.
Another reason is that the growth of economy can enhance the index of national index in a country. First of all, country can use high-degree budget to make citizens’ happiness increase. For example, more welfare to the retired elderly and teenagers can release down the family pressure, which is a way to create the happiness in a family. Secondly, the government can arrange some activities in the communities, promoting the cooperation and harmony among neighbors. Especially some holiday’s glossings and gifts, these small details can greatly increase people’s sense of happiness and belonging.
In conclusion, there is no direct connection between the wealth and the sense of happiness in a country. And also the government can use the rise in economy to increase the citizen’s happiness.
