The issue of obesity is rising rapidly, in recent years, Certain individuals support the idea of educating learners through courses like physical fitness by increasing the frequency of lectures, while the rest of the society believes that unhealthy eating habits and technology dominance are the root cause of sedentary lifestyle causing obesity, which needs immediate addressing. In this essay, I will discuss both the views and explain why the attention on the latter viewpoint of lazy lifestyle is more crucial.
To begin with, without a doubt, educating learners more about physical wellness can act as motivation. Since growing the seed of good health from an early age, will result in establishing a routine in children for a lifetime, and the knowledge will not only protect children from today’s fat issues but also from old age problems due to poor health. Hence, helping children understand the benefits of good health. Moreover, performing physical tasks with peers in schools can be fun, engaging and motivating for the learners because one will never lose interest if an activity involves competing with friends. For example, the excitement and enthusiasm teenagers show for participating in a school’s sports competition is unbeatable because one gets to spend more time with keens while enjoying the physical tasks. Therefore, learners can successfully get the much needed motivation from each other.
On the other hand, the main promoter of sedentary living conditions is dominance of technology in children’s lives. As youngsters do not want to participate in outdoor activities because one can enjoy the same cricket match inside the facility of Air Conditioning but in the virtual world, causing one to gain weight because of not burning out enough fats. Therefore, an intervention from higher officials by banning such games like PUBG is suggested by many. Moving one, another important factor causing bad health is the popularity of junk food and other non-nutritional items in the diet of learners. Since ingredients used in making burgers and pizzas are hard to digest, causing obesity in young individuals. However, the sad reality is the consumption of products like Maggie is not only preferred by teenagers but even by guardians and school faculty as well due to the fact that it saves time to prepare because of the pre-cooked nature of packaged items. To support this, the government of India, banned the production of Maggie in many states after numerous complaints were received from the doctors all over the nation about the disadvantages of eating the product. Hence, forcing staff of educational institutes and parents to cook proper healthy home-made food for the future of the country.
In conclusion, the conflict of fighting with the problem of obesity by increasing classes of physical knowledge is increasing, with some standing in favour, while the rest of the society is demanding more serious actions like introducing a better lifestyle along with a healthy diet in the youngsters from an early age. In my viewpoint, giving knowledge of health in school is important but to turn the tides more focus should be given to other factors like overall health of an individual from good eating habits to better living conditions, only then the menace can be won over.
