A few people believe that both genders have different skill-sets and hence, certain jobs are appropriate for women. Although gender-equality should be implemented, I partially agree with this notion. The reasons for my agreement along with explanation are elaborated in the following paragraphs.
Women with their caring and giving nature are suitable for numerous jobs. Firstly, women are better than men when it comes to taking care or helping someone, like in the field of hospitality. Therefore, airlines choose mainly women as their cabin crew as well as receptionists of most firms are women. Additionally, women are also better at handling stressful situations. For instance, a research revealed that women perform far better than men when the situation became tense. As a result, various companies prefer women as their customer support executives.
However, gender should not be a factor in deciding who is better at their job. Feminism should be encouraged, but there should not be such women-specific jobs. Women are capable of doing work in all the fields, and they should not be limited to some areas. Moreover, there are men who have achieved heights in the fields that were previously considered as women only fields. For example, in the 20th century India, many people used to think badminton as a women’s game, but the belief was broken when a male athlete, Lakshya Sen, won a medal for the country at the olympics.
In conclusion, while women excel in many fields that require caretaking and stress management, gender should not restrict opportunities. Both men and women are capable of pursuing any profession, and gender should not restrict the opportunities for any of them.
