It is true that many believe local areas should following the style of old houses for newly build houses, while others think that the new movers should have their freedom to build houses as they like. In this essay, I will discuss why the style of vintage houses is important to keep a consistence look of the neighbourhood, but why it is individuals right to have the autonomy to make their own houses.
Firstly, it has no doubt that old or vintage houses are more authentic looking than any other new style houses. Because in the old days people used to put a lot of efforts to create specific design for a specific area to keep a unique look for the neighbourhood. For example, we have all white and blue colour houses in my village, which gives a unique vibe and makes our village to stand out from other villages. Although it could be a little overwhelming for newcomers to have the pressure to follow the old houses pattern, it gives a welcoming vibe to the movers.
Secondly, we all know that building a house is expensive, so having an autonomy to build a house is significant. New movers should be able to choose how many rooms they want or what colour walls they want, they will live there for long time. For instance, if there is no autonomy for choosing the designs of their own place, they will be discouraged to build houses in that neighbourhood.
In conclusion, even though some people agree with keeping a consistence design for the newly build houses, I agree with others who believe that individuals should have their own choices when it comes to build houses.
