Some people think that outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than playing computer games. I tend to disagree with this opinion.
On the one hand, it is understandable why many people prefer outdoor activities. Spending time outside helps children improve their physical health, breathe fresh air and stay active. Large open spaces allow them to move freely, enjoy sunlight and reduce stress. In addition, outdoor games give children an opportunity to meet new friends for social development.
On the other hand, I believe that computer games can be even more beneficial for children if used reasonably. Firstly, many games develop reaction speed and hand eye coordination, which are useful skills in everyday life. Secondly, computer games improve cognitive abilities such as logical thinking, memory and problem solving. For example, strategy games require children to plan actions, make decisions quickly and predict consequences, which trains their brain more actively than some outdoor activities. Moreover, online games often involve cooperation with other players, helping children learn teamwork and communication, as in real life, but in a digital environment, which is essentially important nowadays.
In conclusion, thanks to technological progress and the changing way children interact with the world, computer games should not be seen only as harmful. I strongly believe that the golden mean must be maintained, as both outdoor activities and computer games can bring the best to children’s development when balanced wisely.
