A group of individuals presents the view that destitution is the main cause of social problems, while others believe that bad nature plays a vital role in social issues. I strongly agree with the former opinion.
On the one hand, some people justifiably argue that because of economic recession, many residents are deprived of adequate living standards. Therefore, individuals are inevitably compelled to commit crimes in order to earn money. It is an undeniable fact that providing people with sufficient facilities and a great variety of job opportunities would prevent them from breaking the rules. Research findings confirm that most civilized people who are of appropriate occupations are more likely to be law-abiding residents, whereas those who commit crimes often suffer from poverty.
On the other hand, another group of people claims that most people by nature tend to commit wrongdoings. They firmly insist that even a large amount of money might not act as a deterrent. I, however, do not find this argument convincing as money is of great importance these days. On no account do people put themselves on the verge of being caught by police if they possess decent careers. As an example, the crime rate in developed countries is far lower than that in developing and underdeveloped countries.
To conclude, in my view, several crimes are committed due to poverty and a poor economic climate. Having a stable economic climate with numerous job possibilities is likely to prove more effective in deterring people from committing offences.
