Band 8+: Some people think that robots are very important to human's future development, while others think they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both views and give your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some individuals believe that robots will play a crucial role in our future development. Meanwhile, others argue that this technology can pose a threat and potentially lead to negative impacts on society. In this essay, I will discuss both views and share my perspective.

On one hand, technology today is becoming increasingly sophisticated and capable of learning almost as quickly as humans. As a result, robots can provide precise answers to many of our problems. For example, ChatGPT and Gemini are among the most widely used chatbots in recent years, thanks to their advanced artificial intelligence. Users simply need to type their questions, and these robots will deliver appropriate responses. However, this convenience can lead to a growing reliance on generated answers rather than encouraging individuals to investigate issues independently. Furthermore, AI is not only a problem solver; it can also create art, such as images, drawings, and even movies, based solely on a script. Unfortunately, this development poses a threat to many workers in the creative field, as their artworks may not be as commercially viable as those produced by AI, leaving many artists unemployed and making them one of the most affected groups in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

On the other hand, despite contributing to higher unemployment rates, robots also help reduce the number of dangerous manual jobs. For instance, robots used in construction can take on tasks such as digging, which decreases risks and saves time for human workers. Additionally, mini robots, which are as small as a seed, are currently being tested and are expected to become valuable tools in performing complex surgeries. These tiny robots can navigate inside the human body and handle intricate details with precision.

In conclusion, concerns about the dominance of technology are not new. In recent decades, workers in Western countries have protested against machines, accusing them of stealing jobs. However, we have gradually accepted machines as indispensable tools. As for cutting-edge technology, it will take time for us to determine the most suitable ways to utilize them effectively.
