In today’s society skills like cooking , dressing and other daily life skills are an integral part of our daily lives. Some people believe that schools should focus on academic subjects , while others disagree with this idea . In this essay , I will explain why I agree with the statement schools should also teach skills like cooking and dressing and also provide examples to support my position.
Firstly , schools should also teach skills like cooking and dressing. This is because, these type of skills enable the student to stay and survive in any other place where the child is away from parents. For instance , if a student wants to study or work abroad without parents that person will be able to manage the daily routine tasks as he/she have learned the skills like cooking and dressing . Moreover , this type of skills allow the students to live without depending on others. Therefor , it is clear that schools should also teach skills like cooking and dressing .
Additionally , skills like cooking and dressing enable new job opportunities for the students. For example , Chef , Fashion Designer etc professions where the students can find there interest and make their career in this fields . On the other hand some people argue that schools should focus only on academic subjects rather then teaching extra skills like cooking and dressing. However , this argument is flawed because today or in future the students might required to learn the core skills . As a result the skills like cooking and dressing can actually help the student to become more flexible and independent.
In conclusion , while it is true that schools should also teach skills like cooking and dressing the benefit’s of these skills can act as a catalyst in the student personal as well as professional growth . Therefore I strongly agree with the statement that schools should also teach skills like cooking and dressing.
