The issue of the effects of researches on the space has been widely debated among many individuals. In this essay I will identify two advantages, including finding alternative resources of energy and providing new facilities as well as two disadvantages, such as the costs of exploration and space pollution, which will be mentioned.
One the one hand, those supporting the idea that space research have benefits point to the fact that by researching the space, scientists might find alternative sources of energy or even a new place for living if the earth was not a great place to stay anymore. They also state that these explorations provide facilities, such as satellites, leading people to have access to the latest information around the globe. For example, by using satellite human is able to watch local channels from other parts of the world on television, or the fastest version of the internet, which help them to be updated about the latest news using informative websites.
Conversely, advocates for the idea that space exploration can be detrimental believe that it imposes a huge amount of money to the governments’ budget; therefore, people might be under unnecessary pressure because of these extra costs and make them to live on a tight budget. Moreover, they argue that space pollution can bring about many problems to the environment, since companies do not make any efforts to their space crafts which have technical fault or are not useful anymore. The more garbage and waste on the space, the more harms for the humans’ lives.
Overall, while both perspectives present their own merits, I am inclined to support the viewpoint that emphasizes the importance of doing space exploration, because this makes scientists to be capable of finding new possible ways of life for the human and new types of energy. Although pollutants suspending on the space near the earth are regarding as a major problem and some measures should be taken into consideration, the benefits in this regard is worth considering.
