A segment of society think that math and science play a crucial role in education, while other believe that communication and groupwork are more significant. In my opinion, both views have own advantages and disadvantages.
In todays world people, especially teenagers, hold the view that practical skills are essential. This opinion was caused by the internet and individuals who posted their succussed life and commented that they always was bad in academic subjects and theoretical knowledge at school, but they got a charisma and practical skills, that help them in real-life situations. Such examples are especially common in creative fields, where communication, teamwork, and self-presentation play a major role. For instance, students who actively participate in school competitions, debates, and group projects often develop confidence and social skills that help them succeed in real-life situations. This can be explained by the fact that people with strong communication and teamwork skills are usually more adaptable, self-assured, and able to build effective relationships, which is extremely important in modern society.
On the other hand,in real life we dont have only creative professions. In highly competitive world its not enough having practical skills. Some people dont have communication skills but they got perfect analytical abilities and academic achivements which opens the doors to the world of the future and artificial intelligence, where skills such as analytical thinking, mathematics, and other natural sciences are highly valued. For example, many programmers and engineers succeed due to their strong academic background, even if they lack advanced communication skills.
In conclusion, Schools should find a balanced approach and give equal attention to humanities and science subjects to prepare students for the future, because everyone chooses their own path, and each path is valuable.
